Nominate a legend
Western Australia is a land of legends. The staff and volunteers of St John WA do legendary things every day, but they’re not always the first responders. Ordinary people often step up and do extraordinary things to help others in times of distress. If you know of such a person, nominate them for Legendry status!

Legendary FAQs
Land of Legends is a celebration of everyday Western Australians and those in the service of St John who have dedicated their own time in the interests of helping others. It’s important that not only their stories are remembered, but also they are easily accessible, so that they can inspire others who may wish to pursue a similar path.
Possibly! We’re always on the lookout for great stories to tell.
The stories in the book are for people of all ages. They can be enjoyed and explored by parents and kids alike. They make for a great quick read just before bed, or whenever you have a little time to spare. But remember when reading these stories to little ears and eyes that they are based on actual events and may contain clinical and emergency response themes and content. If you have a sensitive little one, parental guidance is recommended for certain stories. Enjoy!
Yes. Each story is absolutely true and we owe a debt of thanks to the St John personnel who trusted us to tell their stories.
The St John workforce often shares their stories. And because St John is a big organisation that spans the whole state, we wanted the stories in the book to represent the whole state. We also wanted stories that didn’t just cover one aspect of St John’s role in Western Australia. Help can come from anywhere! Ambulance officers, call-centre officers, first aid providers, the list is long! So we chose stories to demonstrate the breadth of the organisation.
